About Me

My name is Joseph Barocas, and I have been playing lacrosse for over 13 years, with 11 years as a dedicated goalie. I honed my skills at King School in Stamford and was recruited to play at the collegiate level at Oberlin College, where I am the starting goalie for a top 40 DIII team. With 8 years of coaching experience, I have trained many top-level goalies, helping them reach their full potential.

My coaching philosophy centers on building strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and game intelligence. I emphasize personalized training tailored to each athlete's needs and strengths. Many of my trainees have gone on to achieve significant success at various competitive levels.

I focus on creating a positive and motivating environment, using innovative drills and techniques to boost both performance and self-confidence. In such a challenging position, self-confidence is crucial, and I work diligently to ensure each goalie believes in their abilities and can perform under pressure.

My goal is to help young players develop their skills and self-assurance, fostering a love for the game and building a strong foundation for their future success both on and off the field.
